Effects of Pyrolysis Bio-Oils on Fuel Atomisation—A Review

Bio-oils produced by biomass pyrolysis are substantially different from those petroleum-based fuels and biodiesel. However, they could serve as valuable alternatives to fossil achieve carbon neutral future. The literature review indicates that the current use of bio-oils in gas turbines compression-ignition (diesel) engines is limited due problems associated with atomisation combustion. also identifies progress made bio-oil spray combustion via standardisation fuel properties, optimising combustion, understanding long-term reliability engines. key strategies need be adapted efficiently atomise combust include, efficient techniques such twin fluid atomisation, pressure more advanced novel effervescent air preheating, flame stabilization using swrilers, filtering solid content oils. Once these implemented, can enhance efficiency reduce greenhouse (GHG) emission. Overall, this study clearly have ability substitute fuels, but injection tackled order insure proper fuel.
